Alliances for Solidarity (International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia)

A Worldwide Celebration of Sexual and Gender Diversities

Outline

In March 2017 the government made the historic decision that relationships education in primary schools and relationships and sex education (RSE) in secondary schools is to be made statutory by September 2019.

Description

An exciting opportunity to raise awareness of the single most important date for LGBT communities. The session will be held by Independent Consultant John Yates Harold author of Kings, Princesses, Ducks and Penguins, which is an easy to follow resource for educators to effectively challenge HBT bullying.

"This important, valuable resource will help improve the lives of children who grow up to identify as LGBT. By affirming who they are and giving them a positive image of themselves, it will strengthen their mental and emotional health. Bravo!" - Peter Tatchell, Human Rights Activist.

Outcomes

By the end of the course, delegates will:
  • have increased their knowledge on LGBT issues
  • have the chance to purchase LGBT awareness resources.
