Key Stage 2 Writing Moderation

Implications from National Moderator Training

Outline

This course draws on the STA training materials which are freely available to all schools (from January 2018).

Description

The team of Derbyshire Key Stage 2 Writing Moderators have been trained using these materials and today's event will expand on the statutory national requirements to ensure transparency of these procedures, giving delegates the opportunity to reflect on how National Expectations are exemplified in their own school.
Updates to the Teacher Assessment Frameworks at the end of Key Stage 2 will be covered and the latest STA recommendations shared.
These courses are being offered in place of LA moderation events which have previously been held in April/May.

Outcomes

By the end of the course delegates will:
  • be fully aware of changes to the Teacher Assessment Frameworks at the end of Key Stage 2 and all implications arising from this
  • be able to support staff making accurate judgements for the standard of writing at the end of Key Stage 2.
